We all know that email is by no means a perfect delivery system. Messages often simply "disappear" after we click on the send button. Or sometimes we need to know immediately when someone reads an important message that we send to them. Many companies have systems like this in place on their internal networks, but until now when sending email into the Internet you are at the mercy of thousands of other computers to see your message safely through.
The concept of RegisteredEmail is very similar to the registered mail offered by the postal system. Each piece of email routed through our system receives a tracking number. You can then track your message, and you will be notified immediately when the recipient retrieves the message from our network. No more guesswork as to whether or not your message arrived, or even as to whether or not it was read.
Sending a RegisteredEmail is a simple (and free!) process. Simply address your message to postmaster@registeredemail.com
In the subject of your message, put the email address of the final recipient of your message. Then include whatever message or attatchments just like you would on any other message.
When we receive the message we send a response back to you with a tracking number, and send a notice to the final recipient that they have a message waiting for them. When they retrieve the message from our network, we send you a final notice letting you know that the message has been retrieved.
Here's an example of a RegisteredEmail that will go to bob@aol.com:
To: postmaster@registeredemail.com Subject: bob@aol.com Hey Bob - we just wanted to make certain that you receive this important client information, so we are sending it to you through RegisteredEmail.
That's all there is to it!
When someone sends you a RegisteredEmail, our server will send you a notice message which contains a subject line that reads:
You have a Registered Email -- <Ticket Number>
To retrieve your message, simply reply to the notice without changing anything.
The important thing is that you send a message to postmaster@registeredemail.com with your unique ticket number somewhere in the subject.
Your message will then be immediately sent to you.
